The court upheld PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman's interim bail. The police told the court that Haleem Adil Sheikh and others have several charges including rioting and encirclement. The court adjourned the further hearing of the case till October 23. Haleem Adil Sheikh is in jail on judicial remand in the alleged town police case.
The investigating officer against Ahaleem Adil Shaikh had sought respite from the anti-terrorism court in Karachi to submit the challan.
A case has been registered against Halim Adil Shaikh and others in the alleged town police station on the charge of burning the police mobile. Earlier, the Peshawar High Court dismissed the contempt petition related to the arrest of former opposition leader Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh. The hearing on the application was conducted by Justice Sahibzada Asadullah. During the hearing, the court was told that despite the court orders, the petitioner was arrested by the Sindh Police.
Additional Advocate General Daniyal Chamkani told the court that the petitioner has been arrested by the police in another case. Shawar High Court granted transitory bail in three cases, in which no arrest was made. The ATC court rejected the remand plea of the police after granting the interim bail. The petitioner has been arrested by the police in FIR No. 218, so contempt of court does not constitute a petition. The court dismissed the petition after hearing the arguments.
