People who violate traffic rules while traveling on national highways and motorways across the country will now have to pay fines at a new rate. Spokesperson National Highways and Motorway Police:
Islamabad (Urdu Point News Latest. October 1, 2023) Spokesman of National Highways and Motorway Police has said that additional fines have been applied on motorways and national highways except M9. In a statement, the spokesperson of the Motorway Police said that people who violate traffic rules while traveling on national highways and motorways across the country will now have to pay fines at a new rate. However, this new rate of fines is not applicable to those traveling on Motorway M9, citizens traveling between Karachi and Hyderabad will pay fines at the old rate in case of violation.
It has been reported that under the new rate, the fine for driving a vehicle without lights on the highway has been increased from Rs. While the fine for driving without a driving license is not Rs 750, now Rs 5,000 has to be paid.
The spokesperson of the Motorway further said that the fine of Rs 5,000 has been imposed for installing illegal police or law enforcement lights on a private vehicle. A fine of Rs 2,000 has been imposed on the use of lights that cause agony to drivers, those who do not wear seat belts will have to pay a fine of Rs 1,500, while in case of violation of stop signs on the motorway, the fine will be Rs 3,000 instead of Rs 500. Rs.2500 instead of Rs.500 in case of one-way violation.
It has been learned that the fine for speeding has been increased from Rs 750 to Rs 2500 and for overtaking from a prohibited place Rs 1500 instead of Rs 300, similarly for smoking vehicles Rs 1250, without registration. The vehicle will be fined Rs 2,000, negligent drivers and those who change lanes without signaling will be fined Rs 1,000. A fine of 1000 rupees has also been imposed in case of breaking the line on the motorway.
