Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench declared CPO's reply unsatisfactory, RPO was summoned on September 26 in personal capacity:
Rawalpindi (Urdu Point Newspaper Latest. 21 September 2023) Sheikh Rasheed's arrest, the court declared the CPO's report unsatisfactory. According to the details, a hearing was held on the petition against the arrest of Sheikh Rashid in the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench, Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan heard the case. CPO Rawalpindi responded in court. In response, it was said that Sheikh Rasheed is not with us and has not been arrested, the arrest comes within the limits of Islamabad police station.The court remarked that the former minister was abducted and you say we don't know, how can it be that the police don't know, the report is flawed as it is rejected. The High Court declared the CPO's reply unsatisfactory, while rejecting the claim of ignorance by the Rawalpindi Police and summoned the RPO Rawalpindi in a personal capacity on September 26.
The High Court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 26.
It should be remembered that earlier the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench had sought a report from the federal and provincial government and the Rawalpindi Police within 3 days on the petition filed for the recovery of Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed. During the preliminary hearing, the petitioner's lawyer Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan appeared in the court. However, nothing is being told about them and they were not presented in any court.
He said that the police had neither a warrant nor the reason for the arrest. The petitioner contacted the police and other relevant authorities to get information, but no satisfactory response was given.
