Lahore (Urdu Point latest newspaper. 22 September 2023) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. Pakistan's squad announcement was unexpectedly delayed as the team management held consultations following their humiliating exit from the Asia Cup and injuries to key bowlers during the tournament. On Wednesday, the Cricket Board held a meeting of the national coaching staff under the chairmanship of Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf, in which Mickey Arthur, captain Babar Azam, vice-captain Shadab Khan and former captains Misbah-ul-Haq and Muhammad Hafeez reviewed the team's performance.

The announced squad includes Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abdullah Shafiq, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imamul Haq, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Rizwan (wicket), Wasim Jr., Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Osama Mir are included. Rizzo players include Mohammad Haris, Abrar Ahmed and Zaman Khan.
