NASEEM SHAH MAY BE OUT OF ENTIRE WORLD CUP: REPORT

Early scans in Dubai suggest he could be out of the Australian tour this year with a shoulder injury:

Lahore (Urdu Point Latest News. September 16, 2023) Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah is likely to be out of the entire World Cup after the injury on his right shoulder was revealed, which is worse than initially suspected. The PCB is seeking a second opinion, but scans from the Tests in Dubai show the injury could rule him out for the rest of the year.

The 20-year-old Naseem is looking at months of recovery which means his participation in the Test series in Australia later in the year is in doubt. Naseem Shah walked out in the middle of the 46th over during Pakistan's second match against India in the Asia Cup last week and was ruled out of the tournament soon after.

He has injured the muscle just below his bowling shoulder.

Along with Naseem's absence from the World Cup, the series in Australia will prove to be a huge blow for Pakistan. Over the past year, Naseem has gone from a red-ball specialist to an all-format bowler for Pakistan, and on current form, Naseem is Pakistan's proudest pacer alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. The PCB is expected to take a formal decision in a few days after the results of its secondary scans come in. Zaman Khan was included in the squad in his place in the Asia Cup, while another possible replacement, Mohammad Hasnain, is currently injured.
