METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT HAS FORECAST RAIN IN MOST PARTS OF THE COUNTRY

 

Rain is likely in Lahore, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Southeast Sindh and Northeast Balochistan on Sunday, Meteorological Department said:

Islamabad (Urdu Point Newspaper Latest - 16 September 2023) The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in most parts of the country. It has been reported that there is a possibility of rain in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, South East Sindh and North East Balochistan on Sunday. The meteorological department has predicted 60 percent chance of rain in Lahore city during the next 24 hours.

According to the Department of Meteorology, there is a possibility of rain in the coming week till September 20. While the maximum temperature of Lahore was recorded at 32 degrees Celsius yesterday, the air quality index of the city was also recorded at 143. According to the report, strong winds and thundershowers may occur at few places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Upper, South Punjab, South Sindh, North-East Balochistan, Islamabad and Potohar region on Monday as well.


However, the weather is likely to remain partly cloudy, hot and humid in other parts of the country. It should be noted that during the last 24 hours, the weather remained hot and humid in other parts of the country. Today, the highest temperature was recorded in Sabi, Khairpur and Dadu at 42 degrees Celsius, while due to heavy rain in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, WASA has issued a high alert, Rain Emergency has been imposed in Rawalpindi. In this regard, Deputy Managing Director WASA said that heavy machinery and staff are deployed in the low-lying areas, according to the Meteorological Department, more than 20 mm of rain has been recorded in the twin cities so far.

He said that Nala Lai is being monitored but the situation is normal now, the level of water flow in Nala Lai is 5 feet at Katarian and 4 feet at Golmandi.
