It has been decided to submit the records of important cases to the accountability courts in the next 2 to 3 days:
Islamabad (Urdu Point, Latest Newspaper. September 20, 2023) NAB amendments nullified, records of important cases are likely to be submitted to the accountability court. According to media reports, an emergency meeting of NAB was held on the Supreme Court's decision to nullify the NAB amendments. In the meeting, it was decided to submit the records of important cases to the accountability courts in the next 2 to 3 days. The records of all the important cases will be compiled and submitted to the accountability courts.
It should be remembered that the Supreme Court had declared the NAB amendments invalid, the petition of Chairman PTI Imran Khan was declared admissible. The Supreme Court also issued an 85-page written decision on the NAB Amendment case, written by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial.
In the majority decision, it was said that the amendments related to NAB Amendment Sections 3 and 4 are declared null and void.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah in a dissenting note said that the majority decision in my humble opinion is against the constitutional scheme, the state will exercise its power and authority through the elected representatives of the people. The majority decision failed to recognize the principle of trichotomy of powers. I reject Chairman PTI's request against NAB amendments, Parliament has the power to legislate, Parliament alone can amend or change the laws made by it.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah declared that the question in the case was not about illegal amendments but about the supremacy of the Parliament. Last night I was informed about the majority decision. It should be remembered that in June this year, the coalition government introduced 27 important amendments in the NAB Ordinance.
